Since the founding of the Carmel Mission Foundation in 2008, our Community of Stewards has invested more than $10 million toward the restoration and preservation of historic structures and artifacts throughout the Carmel Mission property. Together we accomplished the $5.5 million structural renovation of the Carmel Mission Basilica, preserved nine of the 11 historic Mission Bells, and successfully completed the $2 million renovation of the Mission Quadrangle. Our goal is to restore this National Historic Landmark, preserve its historical artifacts, and tell its story through the formation of the 31st state of the union, California, and Carmel-by-the-Sea.
