Gifts at Work

Since the founding of the Carmel Mission Foundation in 2008, our community of stewards has completed more than $14 million in restoration and preservation work to the historic structures and artifacts throughout the Carmel Mission property. Together we have successfully completed the $5.5 million structural renovation of the Carmel Mission Basilica, the $2.2 million renovation of the Quadrangle Courtyard, the $4 million Downie Museum and Basilica Forecourt restoration and preserved 9 of the 11 Mission bells as well as other important museum artifacts.  Our goal is to restore this National Historic Landmark, preserve its historical artifacts, and tell it's 250-year story throughout the formation of the 31st state of the union, California, and Carmel-by-the-Sea.
