Machado House Roof

Completed 2014

In December 2014 emergency roof work was needed to preserve the Machado house, part of the Orchard House complex. This redwood farmhouse, built in 1881 for the mission orchardist, was falling into disrepair. The existing roof materials were removed, and 8 rafter beams were replaced. New sheathing was laid, and a new shake roof was installed. All fascia around the building was replaced, and copper flashing was installed. The new shake roof preserves the structure from water damage for the next 30-40 years.
