Entrance Arch
Prior to the Basilica restoration, the iconic Arch at the entrance to Carmel Mission was removed due to deterioration from time and weather which created a significant safety hazard. The Arch will be reconstructed on the existing pillars and will match the original. While we continue restoring the historic structures and museums throughout the Carmel Mission, clearance for construction equipment through the courtyard is needed until we complete the restoration work on the adjacent museum structures. Once complete the Entrance Arch will be restored.
