Future Restoration

Blessed Sacrament Chapel

Harry Downie began reconstruction of this building in 1945 and completed it in 1947. Both the chapel and sacristy are unreinforced adobe and comprise some 1,842 square feet of space.

Restoration plans will explore the process for the chapel to be seismically stabilized and conserved. An original segment of the chapel's east adobe wall dating back to 1800's will remain exposed, allowing visitors to view the original construction with adobe brick material, and improved accessibility will be provided from the east and west entries by installing required ADA access ramps.
